We love to cook at home when in Orkney, our self catering shopping recommendations are :

Deerness Stores is a 10 - 15 minute walk and open every day. Stocking a large range of household goods and Orkney produce including local meat, fish, eggs, bread, cakes and seasonal vegetables. The stores are also an off license stocking a good range of wines and beers including Orkney beers and spirits.

In Kirkwall you can find excellent Orkney produce at The Brig Larder   Argo's Bakery and Donaldson's Butchers. You can buy health and wholefoods at William Shearer's and Bruces Stores is our favourite general grocer in town. There's a Co-Op on Albert Street that's open until 10pm every night and also three large Supermarkets, Co-Op, Lidl and a Tesco on Pickaquoy Road.
